Stop privatisation; improve existing and build a new generation of first class council housing

We demand Homes@Heygate
Tenants and housing campaigners will protest at the controversial Heygate estate on Wed 19th 5.30pm Heygate St/junction with Walworth Rd SE17 1UP.

The former council estate in London Borough of Southwark, at Elephant & Castle, was demolished by developers who want to rebrand the site as Elephant Park. A new report by Transparency International, looking at the site, finds 'the number of South Gardens units sold abroad is 51 out of 51 properties, as per Land Registry documents Protestors say they are demanding homes local people can afford; homes for people not investment (wherever the money comes from).

Jerry Flynn, a former Heygate leaseholder, supports the protest. He says: Notes to Editors:
