Stop privatisation; improve existing and build a new generation of first class council housing
Summit plans next steps to resist Bill and defend homes
The Housing Bill passed in parliament on Thursday 12th May after provoking growing opposition.
It will not come into effect before April 2017, and many of the new measures require further votes in Parliament, and are likely to be resisted. Opposition to Government plans to tax tenants through 'Pay to Stay', sell off council homes, end new build homes for rent and encourage clearance of estates, is spelled out in a statement from the Kill the Housing Bill campaign - see statement here.

A meeting this Saturday 21st May is open to all concerned to resist the Housing Bill, support secure homes for all and rent controls.
