Opposition is mounting to the Government's Housing Bill, which will divert public funding away from homes for rent, enforce sell off of valuable council homes on the open market, and market rents for working tenants. See Guardian letter signed by tenant groups across England and Wales, Traveller groups, MPs, councillors and several national trade unions.
An organising meeting will plan the next stages of the campaign - please make sure your group is represented: 12 December 11-2pm at Unite Holborn 128 Theobald's Rd London WC1X 8TN.
This will follow a Day of Action against the Bill on 5 December. Tenants and campaigners, unions, councillors are organising and linking up to organise local leafletting, petitions, protests and lobbying. Some are planning public meetings and motions to council meetings.
